Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Ophiron ("Ophiron," "we," "us," or "our"), the developer of EonChat, the digital social platform of The GoodNews World. They govern your access to and use of EonChat across our web application, mobile applications, and related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, or by accessing or using the Service in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, which are incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.

1. Eligibility and age requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to create an EonChat account. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may only use the Service with the involvement, supervision, and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who by permitting your use agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

EonChat is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will suspend the account and delete the associated personal data, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

By using the Service, you represent that you meet these age requirements, that any registration information you provide is accurate, and that your use of the Service does not violate any law applicable to you.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate, current information when you register and keep it up to date.
• Accounts are personal to you. You may not sell, transfer, share login credentials for, or let anyone else use your account.
• You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account and for keeping your password and any device you use to access EonChat secure.
• We may require email or phone verification, or a second verification step (two-factor authentication), before enabling certain features.
• Tell us immediately at support@goodnewsworld.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. The Service

EonChat brings together, under one account, the following real, currently available features:

• Social feed — posts, comments, mentions, likes, and following other users.
• Messaging and calls — direct and group chat, and voice/video calling.
• Stories and testimonies — short-lived stories and shared testimonies of faith.
• Live streaming, video, and music — watching live broadcasts and browsing audio/video content.
• Devotionals — daily devotional content published by The GoodNews World.
• Events — discovering and registering for gatherings, including paid registration where applicable.
• Giving — offerings, tithes, and partnership giving to ministries and causes.
• Shop — browsing and purchasing merchandise.
• Fort Moriah bookings — searching and booking hotel/accommodation stays.

We may add, change, suspend, or remove any part of the Service at any time, including for operational, legal, safety, or product reasons. We will try to give notice of material changes where practical, but we are not required to keep any specific feature available indefinitely.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use EonChat to do, or attempt to do, any of the following:

• Post, send, or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, harassing, hateful, or that promotes violence or discrimination against any person or group.
• Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organisation.
• Harass, bully, stalk, threaten, or intimidate any other user.
• Send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or engage in fraudulent or deceptive conduct, including in connection with payments, giving, or the Shop.
• Upload viruses, malware, or attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data about other users beyond what the Service itself displays to you.
• Infringe any person's intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights.
• Use the Service for anything illegal under the laws that apply to you.

5. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation

EonChat has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and for any content or conduct that sexualises, exploits, endangers, or otherwise abuses a minor. This applies without exception across every feature of the Service, including posts, comments, messages, calls, stories, live streams, and profile content.

• Any account found to have posted, shared, requested, or solicited CSAM, or to have engaged in the grooming, sexual exploitation, or endangerment of a minor, will be permanently and immediately terminated.
• We will preserve relevant account and content data as required and report such content or conduct to the appropriate law enforcement and child-safety authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or an equivalent body, where applicable.
• We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations into child exploitation.

If you encounter content or behaviour that endangers a child, report it immediately using the in-app Report option on the post, comment, message, or profile, or email support@goodnewsworld.com with as much detail as you can provide. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or law enforcement first.

6. Content moderation, reporting, and blocking

Every post, comment, testimony, and profile on EonChat can be reported by any user directly from within the app. You can also block another user at any time, which prevents them from contacting you or seeing your content. Reports are reviewed, and content or accounts that violate these Terms may be removed, restricted, or suspended, at our discretion and without prior notice where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the safety of our community.

We do not pre-screen all content before it is posted. If you believe content violates these Terms, report it — do not assume its presence on the Service means we have reviewed or endorsed it.

7. Your content and our license to it

You retain ownership of everything you post, upload, or share on EonChat ("your content"). By posting content, you grant Ophiron a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and promoting the Service (for example, showing your post in the feed of people who follow you, or generating a thumbnail for a shared link). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where your content has been shared by others, retained in backups for a reasonable period, or where we are required to retain it by law.

You are solely responsible for the content you post and for having the rights necessary to post it. Do not post content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.

8. Payments, giving, purchases, and bookings

Certain features involve real payments — paid event registration, giving/offerings, Shop purchases, and Fort Moriah bookings. Where you make a payment through EonChat:

• Prices, totals, and fees shown at checkout are calculated by our backend and are authoritative — always confirm the amount shown before you pay.
• Payments are processed by third-party payment providers (which may include Stripe, PayPal, and EcoCash, depending on what is available in your region). We do not store your full card number.
• Giving/offerings, once processed, are generally non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion.
• Shop orders and Fort Moriah bookings are subject to the cancellation, refund, and availability terms shown to you at the time of purchase or booking.
• You are responsible for any taxes, currency conversion charges, or payment-provider fees associated with your payment.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party infrastructure to operate — for example, cloud storage and content delivery for photos, video, and audio; a real-time communications provider for voice and video calls; a live-streaming provider; payment processors; and push-notification delivery. Your use of features backed by these providers is also subject to this reliance on their availability, and our Privacy Policy describes what is shared with them.

10. Intellectual property

The EonChat name, logo, and app design, and all software, text, graphics, and other material we provide as part of the Service (excluding your content and other users' content), are owned by Ophiron or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service or its software except as this license expressly allows.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service, or request deletion of your account, at any time — see Delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or if required by law. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including content licenses already granted, payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Devotionals, testimonies, prophecies, and other faith-based content reflect the views and experiences of their individual authors and contributors, not a professional, medical, legal, or financial opinion of Ophiron — see our Disclaimer for more detail.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ophiron will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zimbabwe, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zimbabwe, except where local law requires otherwise for consumer disputes in your country of residence.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
